Well, It can. It depends mostly on how long you have been staring at the CRT or LCD. Staring at anything for too long isn't good for your eyes. I'm not an expert but I have been using computer for a long time now. Recently, I have started to notice my eyesight problem. I can't see from far anymore. Try not to have too much brightness or too less brightness in CRT or LCD. Having too much can hurt your eyes and cause some issue. Also, having too less is bad for your eyes, as you will have to force your eyes to see in the dark. So try to have the brightness in mid. Hope this helps!
