I was on the Depo shot for over 4 years, I gained 35 pounds in that time. So, YES, you can definitely gain weight on the shot. I usually gained 4 to 5 pounds every time I got a shot. For this reason alone, I quit taking the shot. I had no other side effects and LOVED the shot but couldn't keep my weight from gaining.
