The juice of a leek plant mixed with honey and the gel from an aloe vera plant can help with the pain of shingles. There is no evidence that the juice of a leek can help heal the shingles.
The only thing that has ever worked for me is 'Blistex'. It smells strongly, but it works.
Aloe Vera gelll should help. Stay out of the sun until they heal
Rubbing acid into open wounds is going to be painful. The rash will heal on its own. Keep it clean and dry.
I believe the supplement,Lysine, will help heal and even prevent these. Also, avoiding certain foods with acidic quality can help prevent these. Abeva,an over the counter medication, can be helpful.
You could get the vaccine if you already had shingles; but it may not help you from recurrence of zoster, which by the way is less than 5%. If it does recur, the vaccine may help you.
You can use Gold Bond on shingles to help relieve the itch. It is not to be considered a treatment for shingles though.
Stay isolated. The disease is highly contagious. Stay home from work or school until all sores are scabs. Wait for the rash to become blisters and for the blisters to heal and become scabbed. It will happen by itself. Your immune system will heal you. Do not scratch the blisters - you can allow in bacterial infection and leave scars, or become sick from the bacteria. Put a soothing cream or lotion on the blisters. Calamine lotion (Zinc Oxide) is a cheap simple lotion to use. It dries to a chalky powder which is a slight antiseptic and which absorbs fluid leaking from the sores. You can take cool oatmeal baths to help with the itching, or put a mixture of baking soda on the chickenpox.
Because blisters and sharp pain are very non-specific symptoms, it is impossible to tell what may be causing them. There are many diseases/disorders that may have these symptoms. Shingles causes blisters with burning pain. Boils can occur anywhere on the body and are also extremely painful. For appropriate diagnosis and treatment of a medical disorder or disease, please seek the help of a qualified physician.
You will be given a script for Endep and/or Lyrica. Endep is an anti depressant and Lyrica (very expensive) is used for people with epilepsy. Sounds strange, but both of these medications target nerve endings which is where the pain from shingles comes. Be warned, both of these medications make you feel very tired.
yes
It sounds like shingles. They are itchy but very painful, they effect the nerve endings. If you have had chicken pox or the vaccine it's possible that he now has shingles. Check if you have a fever, and try to go to the doctor. I know that this sounds weird but if you cant get to the doctor just grind up some aspirin and mix it with hand lotion and rub it all over the suspicious area, if you do have shingles then this will help a little bit. If you have already had chicken pox or gotten your vaccine then you could have shingles
