The main issue with accidentally melting plastic is that it gives of fumes when heated. These fumes aren't very good for your health, and will probably also impart a taste to anything you cook in the oven.

The best way forward might be to gradually rewarm the oven ( keeping the kitchen window open to ventilate any fumes), and as soon as the plastic has become softened, try and scrape off as much as possible with something like a metal pallete knife (one which you won't mind binning afterwards).

You may want to consider investing in a silicone oven liner in future.
