Carefully scrape the bulk of it with a craft knife. Remove residue with acetone or lacquer thinner.
First separate the 'button' from the mirror stalk. Now clean the area on window with acetone or lacquer thinner. When it's clean and dry place a drop or two of the adhesive on the button and press it onto the window. Hold it for about 2 minutes then it will be firmly stuck, now slide the mirror stalk over it and tighten it up.
When the window is damage or go out of fashion then we have to change it.
You can prevent damage from yourself by sitting in your bathtub if you don't have a window but if you have a window lay in your hallway with a mat on your head.
