The cause of this is a scanning file (called Scan.dll) within World of Warcraft that can gather nonspecific information such as system specs (for information needed when you ask Warcraft to set your video/graphics settings to what they recommend for your computer) internet speed (for downloading updates and content while playing) and to check to be sure you aren't running any cheat programs. If this program is running while your antivirus/spyware is doing a routine scan of your system it will detect this as malware and sometimes block the game.
