If you want to melt crayons... try this... get two pieces of wax paper, use a hand pencil sharpener and shave some of the crayon between the two pieces of wax paper (use lots of colors) now place an old towel over the wax paper and use a clothes iron set to low and iron the towel (use an old piece of wood, larger than the wax paper, as a base for this task) after ironing for a while check your progress and iron some more, if necessary. See what happens, please use common sense about where and how you do this, but the results should please you and it is better than messing up the glue gun.
