Toyota 4 runner 1990 harmonic balancer bolt turn?

The harmonic balancer on a 1990 Toyota 4 Runner is turned clockwise to loosen it. This is backwards from most bolts to prevent it from being loosened by the rotation of the engine.

What is the proper way to remove harmonic balancer on 67 lemans 326 motor?

After removing the harmonic balancer retaining bolt and washer (you may need to immobilize the crankshaft by securing the flywheel ring gear), you will need to use a tool known as a wheel puller or a hub puller, such as a KD2251 as made by KD Tools. The tool consists of a long center bolt that runs through a center threaded hub attached to three adjustable splayed arms with holes in each at the working end. By bolting each arm to the existing pulley retention bolt holes in the harmonic balancer and then turning the long center bolt of the hub puller clockwise into the center of the crankshaft snout, the harmonic balancer will be "pulled" from the crankshaft. Be certain to utilize a wide centering point in the end of the long center puller bolt to prevent damage to the threads in the crankshaft snout. The harmonic balancer can be reinstalled by utilizing various length bolts which fit the threaded hole in the crankshaft snout, a heavy washer, and appropriately sized spacers. After carefully aligning the harmonic balancer on the end of the crankshaft snout, using a longer bolt, tighten (clockwise) the bolt into the end of the crankshaft. When this bolt runs out of travel remove the bolt and replace with a shorter bolt or employ shims. Repeat until the harmonic balancer reaches the shoulder on the crankshaft. reinstall the harmonic balancer retention bolt and washer, tightening it to the required torque specification. All of this is true....but Pontiac did not use an interference or press fit balancer. Most of the time once you have removed the large bolt in the center they can just be pulled right out. Installation is usually done by just pushing it back on. There are the occasional tough ones though that will have to be pulled with a puller.

A 2001 Honda Accord V6 may not start when the battery is bad, there is no fuel, or the ignition system is defective. A bad starter will also prevent the engine from turning over during starting.

Removing a harmonic balancer on a Nissan 300 zx 1989 Without shop air. How to lock the crankshaft from spinning while loosening the harmonic balancer center nut. Thanks guys?

Answer:Unlike the Honda/Acura vehicles for which they make a specific crank pulley holding tool, on the Nissan VG30 engines pretty much the only (and best) way to remove the harmonic balancer is by wedging a pry bar between the flywheel/driveplate teeth to prevent the crankshaft from turning while you loosen the crankshaft bolt. In order to get that pry bar wedged in, you'll have to remove the two starter mounting bolts, and just push the starter out of the way. To loosen the crank bolt, it helps if you have a nice long 24" flex handle (breaker bar). It also helps if you have an assistant to hold the pry bar and keep it wedged in between the flywheel teeth at the right angle so you should then be able to give that breaker bar a good impact. Good luck! A easy way to remove a Harmonic Balancer nut even on a light truck is to use the starter motor! Put the socket and bar on the nut and check the direction of rotation of the engine, make sure you have it the right way around or it could swing right around and do damage, you want the end of the bar to be resting on the garage floor, keep your hands out of the way and touch the starter motor, Bingo! it`s undone!!!!

Can the fuel pump relay cause the pump not to pump gas?

Yes, a defective relay will prevent the pump from running.

Is it required to pull or move the 3.8 liter engine to replace the Harmonic Balancer on a 1995 Buick Lesabre?

definitely NOT but you need to block movement or rotation of engine, best done by removing flywheel cover and clamp flywheel with vice grips-that will prevent the rotation after slight rotation and lockup. Nut on front is tight and will take 1/2@ breaker bar and a cheater pipe. Haven't seen a impact that will break those nuts
