How to remove the Bolt of a marlin model 783?
Bolt removal on this model is fairly straightforward and simple. First work the bolt to the rear as if to chamber a shell. Second pull trigger and continue to pull the bolt to the rear and it will slide out the back of the reciever. To reinstall bolt complete this sequence in reverse.

I have a marlin model 60 with a gold trigger..the price difference is not by much if any at all..they both cost the same. some gun shops will charge more, but most usually don't and charge the same. A model 60 with etching and wood work can sell for more than one with just a gold trigger.

How to remove bolt from a marlin 783?
flip safety to fire open bolt pull and hold trigger then continue to pull bolt back to you. to put back in align it drop in till it stops pull trigger and it will fall the rest of the way inI'd call or write Marlin and get an owner's manual if you don't have one. That would be the best thing to do. I'm not familiar with this model, but usually on bolt actions, there is a latch located on the top left of the barrell. (assuming this is a right handed model) Just flip that up, turn the bolt to where the handle is in line with the barrel, and pull back. It should come out with very little problem. If that doesn't work, get in touch with Marlin. The first answer is correct. Though having a copy of the owner's manual is always a very good idea. It is also true that most bolt action rifles have a release mechanism to extract the bolt for cleaning and maintenance.

Open the bolt, check that gun is empty. Release safety, press and HOLD trigger, side bolt out. If that does not work, look for a screw on the left side of the receiver near the bolt. Remove screw, then repeat first steps.

The Western Field model 72 lever-action rifle was made by Mossberg and generally resembled the Marlin 336. These two rifles are not the same an no parts interchange EXCEPT for the scope mounts. Will a replacement stock for a Marlin Model 336 work on a Marlin Model 336 RC?
that answer is "YES" The stock works fine on a Marlin 30AS however there is some slight modification needed with a dremmel tool to get it perfect. The Fore end however does not fit as it is at least 3/4" to 1" short. On the Marlin 30AS there is a fitting that is attached physically to the Barrel that has two screws on either side that attaches a metal cap onto the farthest end of the Fore End and the Marlin 336 Fore end will not reach that cap. SO....unless you have a fantastic gunsmith that can modify that metal cap so that it is 3/4" to 1" longer the fore end will not fit properly at all.
