If a dog had a portion of it's ear bitten off and it wasn't mangled, yes, the vet in many cases may be able to sew the tip of the ear back on, (just like human ears or digits of the body) but it's a rarity and the other posters are more correct. Your dog will have a battle scar, but it will make him unique. * One of my labs nipped a part of the other one's ear off when they were playing and as noted the portion of missing ear will not regrow. However, my dog needed minor surgery as the blood vessels in the ear need to be tied off to prevent infection from occurring and the animal becoming very ill and perhaps losing the entire ear. It might be a good idea to have the puppy examined by a vet if that has not already been done.
