Depends on what transmission you are attempting to swap. Automatic for automatic, manual for manual or auto to manual. Also depends if you are swapping a 3-speed and 4-speed transaxles. Short answer is yes, they will physically fit. More complicated answer is fitment is Ok, operation may not work. The parts are very similar from generation to generation - but here you have a 6th generation Corolla swapped into a 7th generation. You could potentially have issues with the clutch operation, axles could be different, some cases ECM is completely different Best to stick with the same generation of parts, if possible, stick with the same model year and equipment - to insure a trouble-free, nearly drop in swap.
It'll fit, but it probably won't work very well, as a 1996 transmission would be wholly electronic, and the 1990 transmission would not.
Look for a fuse on the left-panel below the driver. It controls the inside middle stop-brake light and the transmission button.
Yes, they both have the same engine, a 4A**
NONE. Each engine has it's own transmission.
about $300.00 where I work.
No it will not because the96 Tahoe has a 4L60E electronic transmission in it. The 85 transmission is not a electronic transmission. WILL not WORK.
No it will not work.
No it will not. The only transmission that will WORK in the 96 IS A 1996 MODEL. NO other years will interchange.
Yes
Most speedometers are run off of the transmission. Something was not correctly put together.
NO it will not work. The 1990 computer / Electronics will not shift the 95 transmission. The wireing harness on the 90 model will not even plug up to the 95 model transmission.
When bulbs on a Toyota Corolla are working but one is not, it is usually a burnt out bulb. You can change this yourself.
