Yes
250hp for the 2004 and newer model Police Interceptors.
the 97 crown vic transmission is for the car and the interceptor is police car
Yes.
While strong and reliable, the Crown Victoria's design dates all the way back to 1992 (the platform itself dates back to 1979) and was in serious need of updating. As such, Ford decided to phase out the Crown Vics altogether and replace them with a Police Interceptor version of the Taurus.
They can be. Like any used car there are some bad apples in the bunch and because if the abusive nature of police work they can be in rough shape. You have to look them over like any used car. Our business is stocked with used crown vics. They do pretty well but we replace a lot of rear ends on them. If they are driven too long with the bad rear end you will burn out the transmission.
351m (modified) were last made in about 1980 to 83... 351c (clevelands) were last made in about the same time. the police interceptors had a 351w with a card on it.
Small exterior differences, Civilian cars gave 120 MPH speedos where the interceptor has 140 MPH, aggressive tuning on the interceptors.
The Police Interceptors were rated by Ford at 250 horsepower for pricing reasons, but its actual output is 360 horsepower at the crank (up to 380 for the 2008-2011 models). My dad tells me that all police cars have turbo engines.
All Crown Victoria Police Interceptor 4.6 engine models retain the same amount of horsepower and torque throughought to present. It is 225 horsepower with 290 ft lbs. of torque. Now from an experts point of view: All Crown Victorias do have a 4.6L V8 regardless of whether or not they are police interceptors, but the interceptors have upgraded computers which increase the HP. I sell these cars and I KNOW that every year they get faster and faster regardless of the fact that Ford never changes the listed HP of actually 250 not 225. To check my credibility, look up my company on Google: Martel Autos.
No, I doesnt fit. Check the tail of the 1997 and there is a speed sensor. The 2003 doesnt have it.
Crown Point Police Department's motto is 'To serve and Protect'.
