That is one of many possibilities
When a shift solenoid goes bad the solenoid doesn't make any noise.
yes make sure the shift solenoid plug is the same if not just use your old solenoid the only prob is a retaining clip inside that is smaller so dont give it to hard
Unbolt the transmission pan. The pan should have a drain plug which can be removed with a 3/8 drive ratchet. Then allow ample time for the fluid to drain into your pan careful not to spill a single drop because you want to add the same amount of new fluid back into the transmission via the dipstick. Locate the shift solenoid on the transmisson valve body. Then remove the enire wiring and solenoid. If you are planning on replacing the whole thing because of check engine light code 0773 then READ THIS CAREFULY. The torque converter may be the actual issue. Have you shift solenoid tested. But first check the wiring to see if its frayed. Also it could just be dirty. If you replace the solenoid keep in mind it is expensive and you will be paying for a $200 part plus the price of tranny fluid, gasket and sealer. Just make sure the shift solenoid will fix your problem. Good luck
either shift relay, or shift modual It does not drop to first gear, it drops into limp mode, that means you have only gear 1 and 2. this can happen, because of wrong signals coming from a faulty speed sensor (on the gearbox) or usually the solenoid or the filters in it are blocked. Replace the solenoid and your tranny will work again like new.
Leaky transmission lines would cause the fluid level to drop and eventually cause the transmission not to shift and go.

Yes
Low transmission fluid will cause your transmission to not shift properly. Check the transmission fluid and make sure it is at the appropriate level.
It will make a grinding noise. Or it will start making the rps jump high and a ruff shift or feel like tge transmission... sometimes if u put the transmission in park it will grind. And not engadge
The transmission may shift hard due to it beginning to fail. However, it may also be due to low transmission fluid.
The most common reason for an automobile transmission to shift hard is low transmission fluid. Make sure the transmission fluid is at the appropriate level.
it wont make it any faster but it will make it shift harder. if its an automatic it you will really be able to feel the shift. all it does is make it shift faster. this actually causes less wear to the transmission.
