No, While the block is the same many of the components are different. EPA changes changed the various sensors used. The 94-95 2.2 was only used for 2 years. One of the reasons has to do with ODBII laws. by 1996 all vehicles had to be ODBII, while the 94 and 95 have an ODBII connection on it, it is still ODBI tech. The computer on a 94 does not store the codes like a 96 or newer does. Therefore you just get the flashing light to check trouble codes. The sensors on the engine all talk to the ECU(computer) and the 94-95 computer is not wired correctly for these sensors.
YES, if you know what you are doing. You will need the complete engine and transmission wiring harness and computer plus the fuel pump for the 5.3L engine. The wiring harness and computer on the 97 will NOT work.
If the motor is the same the wiring harness should fit. Only thing I would check is the sending units. As long as both vehicles have gauges or both have warning lights all should be fine.
TheChevy Celebrity engine wiring harness would not likely be available new from Chevrolet. The only likely source would be a wrecking yard and prices there vary widely from yard to yard.
You can put that engine in a go-kart ,IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING.But as far as a direct bolt in NO. You would have to USE the 2004 transmission, computer, Fuel pump, complete wiring harness for the engine and transmission. speed sensors and wiring harness among other things. It would be a costly project to start and to finish.
It will fit right in there if you know what you are doing. But you will have to add a computer, fuel pump and some wiring harness to make that engine run.
Any newer Chevy V8 will fit in the engine bay, you can buy a new crate engine or get one from the junkyard, just be sure to get the computer and wiring harness if you get one from the junkyard.
No.....They look the same but they are not the same. The wires have been put in different places.
you will need a wireing harness and computer that will work with the c1500 and the 350 so it is not hard you just need a computer that is out of a truck with a digital or analog dash what ever it is that the c1500 has and if your wiring harness is obd 2 witch it is you are good you might just need a couple of aditional plugs so get a whole harness
im putting a 5.7 wh statesman engine in my vt but using the vx ss wirring harness the mtor turns over but no spark is the harness different
Buy the repairing book of Haynes.. it has everything in..
It will fit BUT NOTHING will hook up on it as far as the wiring harness and computer system that's on the 97. The transmission will not shift either and you would have to change the fuel pump that's in the tank. Nother words you would need the wiring, fuel pump, computer out of the 93 and install all of it into the 97.
You would need to carry over the entire harness including computer from the TBI engine.
