No,you need to buy medication.the best idea is to speak to a vet and see what they recommend. It is bad for your cat if they are left untreated,it will make your cat thin and undernourished as the worms will use the food for themselfs

Very rarely will fleas die off on their own. Since humans are not a prefered food sourse, preventing them from biting and keeping your home clean can help dwindle them to nothing... however, with the stages of a flea, this can take up to or more than a year. If you have pets the flea problem will not go away without assistance.

With pets this can help rid you of fleas without chemicals:

->Wash pets regularly (every couple of days at least) with Dawn dish soap, Ivory bar soap, or Irish Spring bar soap - soak bar soaps to make them more managable with animal's fur

->Mop regularly, with floor cleaner or dawn dish soap water - once every day or two

->Sprinkle table salt or Powder Borax in all those hard to reach areas - Table salt is healthier for children and pets

-> Sprinkle table salt over soft surfaces like furnature or carpets and vaccume daily, make sure to leave salt settle in fabrics for a couple hours - to get it deeper into carpets simply sweep it in (Borax can discolor some fabric materials)

Getting rid of fleas chemical-free is a lot of work, but not impossible. Work hard, and you will notice a decrease in your flea problem within the first week. Using this method is can take up to 6 or more weeks to be sure you are flea free, but never stop checking over your pets to make sure you do not get another infestation. If you got fleas once, the chances of getting them again are high... not only because of local animals, but fleas can infest your yards as well.

This will depend on the temperature of the compost. Most worms will not survive freezing, however some may burrow into the compost or cocoon themselves and survive, some will even go into a form of hibernation.
