Yes, there is going to be a series 3 of torchwood. Which will be shown over five consecutive days, and is called Children of the Earth. It is going to be broadcasted on BBC1. Each episode will be one hour long, rather than the normal forty minutes. It should be starting on June 15th 2009 though - as long as nothing changes!!! Starting time is 9:00pm. Definate members of the cast are John Barrowman (Captain Jack) Eve Myles (Gwen Cooper) and Gareth David-Lloyd (Ianto Jones.) Rumours say that he is not going to be in Torchwood Series 3. And evidence backs this up as he is filming for other things. But as for series in the future - who knows?

in the last episode of torchwood, series 2, toshico and Owen died, so by the last episode of series 4 dr who, they wouldn't be there.

It has been announced by John Barrowman on this morning that there will be a series 4 torchwood and they started filming it in January so there should be a new series later this year.

No. To date the Doctor has never made an appearance on Torchwood; although there have been several references to him both direct and indirect. The Doctors hand can be seen throughout series 1 and the TARDIS noise is heard in the series 1 finale followed by Jack's disappearance and is a direct tie-in to the 3 part Doctor Who series 3 finale. The Doctor is also mentioned by name several times in Torchwood despite him never actually appearing.
