No, if your loved ones walked a genuine Christian path, they will be in Heaven. The answer is no because they will not "wait" for you because they will be enjoying the warmth of God. Also, you and/or your loved ones may not have walked a Christian path in life and won't be given access to Heaven.

No one knows for sure because this is the mystery of death. Suppose your religious, you should probably believe that. If your not religious, you might have some doubts. Overall, this is a question of whether you believe in God or not.

1Co 13:12-13

12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

I would read Loved Ones in Heaven at www.loved-ones-in-heaven.com or on Amazon's Kindle, because this will help you.

We believe as Christians that we will see our loved ones again and they will know us and we will know them, but the relationship won't be there anymore like wife, husband etc. Remember Jesus said, 'in heaven they neither marry or are given in marriage."

Answer:

Going to heaven is a "false belief" foisted on man by the god of this world, whose greatest desire is to "go to heaven" to depose God from His throne and become God.

The belief is taught by most religions regarding going to one form of heaven or other, and is not limited to just "modern professing Christianity."

Jesus clearly states that going to heaven is OFF-LIMITS to man; with the one exception... HIMSELF... who came from there in the first place:

"There is NO ONE GONE UP TO HEAVEN, except the One who came down from heaven -- the Son of Man Himself." (John 3:13 MNT Montgomery New Testament)

This includes the false teachings of Enoch and Elijah "going to heaven." If they are in heaven as men say... then, THAT MAKES JESUS A LIAR by His statement above.

The main beliefs that have come down to us today in "modern professing Christianity" -- going to heaven and going to everlasting fires of hell -- are things that originate with Satan's desire and judgment. And these were never intended for mankind.

There is only ONE scripture that even comes close to saying "go to heaven"... and it's the DEVIL who says it:

"How you are fallen from heaven, O Shining Star... For you said to yourself, 'I WILL ASCEND TO HEAVEN and set my throne above God's stars..." (Isa.14:12-13 NLT New Living Translation).

SATAN says "go to heaven"... NOT GOD. God says, "...no man hath ascended up to heaven..." (John 3:13 KJV).

NO MAN was allowed into the Most Holy Place in the Temple; the place of the Ark of the Covenant, the representation of the Father's throne in heaven... except for the "high priest" who represented Jesus Christ. Well, the REAL Jesus has entered into that REAL heavenly Most Holy Place at His Father's right hand as the earthly patterns and ceremonies and rites have all pointed from the beginning.

And mankind STILL is denied access to that Most Holy Place, except THROUGH CHRIST, our Immortal High Priest in heaven, THROUGH PRAYER. God is Spirit... and we must worship Him in Spirit.

"That is why we have a great High Priest who has gone to heaven, Jesus the Son of God. Let us cling to Him and never stop trusting Him. This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same temptations we do, yet He did not sin. So let us COME BOLDLY TO THE THRONE of our Gracious God. There we will receive His Mercy, and we will find Grace to help us when we need it." (Heb.4:14-16 NLT)

Jesus, who came from heaven, assures us that He is the ONLY MAN who has ever gone there. And He further states:

"...You will search for Me and die in your sin. YOU CANNOT COME WHERE I AM GOING." (John 8:21 NLT)

The Bible tells us that "the dead know not anything" [Eccle.9:5].

It refers to death as "sleeping" [John 11:11-14].

According to God's Divinely-revealed Word... there is a resurrection and Judgment Day coming AT THE END of His plan of Salvation for mankind. But, this false teaching of "men being judged and going to immediately to a heaven or ever-burning hell at death" NEGATES GOD'S WORD in the hearts and minds of blinded, deceived men. Which is exactly what the god of this world likes.

As revealed... it was SATAN who wants to GO TO HEAVEN. But God promises man THE EARTH!

"...God's PROMISE TO GIVE THE WHOLE EARTH TO ABRAHAM and his descendants was not based on obedience to God's law, but on the new relationship with God that comes by Faith." (Rom.4:13 NLT)

And the "Dante's Inferno" type of "hell" that modern religion has adopted into its agenda to "scare people straight" is, according to the Bible, a VERY REAL FIRE on the Day of Judgment is intended, first of all, FOR SATAN AND HIS ANGELS:

"...the King will turn to those [incorrigibly wicked men who love the works of Satan] on His left and say, 'Away with you, you cursed ones, into the Eternal Fire PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL AND HIS DEMONS!" (Matt.25:41 NLT)

There's more to say... but the upshot of all of this is that death and life are OPPOSITES... not the same thing. Life is consciousness and knowing and thinking and... recognizing. Death is... NOTHINGNESS. It's an unconscious, dreamless, dormant SLEEP!

At death, if we're fortunate, we "go to a grave" [hell; a hole in the ground]:

"...For when you go to the grave, there will be no work or planning or knowledge or wisdom." (Eccle.9:10 NLT)

The only recognition of "departed loved ones" will happen on Judgment Day at the end of God's plan, according to the scriptures. The DEAD WILL LIVE AGAIN at that time... and recognition will then be possible.

The "First Resurrection" will take place at the time of Christ's return for His saints [His cabinet members; kings and priests and judges who will rule the Kingdom with Him over the nations of the world]:

"...They came to life again, and they reigned with Christ for a thousand years. THIS IS THE FIRST RESURRECTION. (The rest of the dead did not come back to life until the thousand years had ended.)" (Rev.20:4-5 NLT)

Going to heaven isn't a belief unique to modern professing Christianity. It's very popular among most of the world's religions, going to one place of heavenly bliss or other. But the God of the Bible states clearly, that it's a false teaching... and a lie.

The god of this world is the "father [originator] of lies" [John 8:44]. The world, the world's governments and the world's religions ARE HIS! And the beliefs of the religions are his also.

Going to heaven is HIS HEART'S DESIRE. And he has planted his desire in the hearts of those whom he has deceived in his world [see Rev.12:9]. But the Bible says there is no going to heaven for men [where I go you cannot come]. And there is no recognition of anything or anyone in death... neither in heaven where we cannot go... or in the grave where we do go.

Yes you will be with your family in heaven .... but:

All souls (translated spirit in the KJV) return to our Father .... (ALL Ecclesiastes 12:7)

Don't forget Luke 16 (Temporary condition before the 2 judgments)

Revelation 20 (the two judgments), you will have 1day (1000 years) to get your act straight, if necessary

Revelation 21 (Final judgment results), Heaven comes to earth, and those souls that don't pass judgment, are destroyed in the lake of fire.

We know nothing about heaven, not even whether it actually exists, so it is not possible to really answer this question. Assuming we will be with our families in the vastness of heaven and assuming that, although spirits, they can see us in some sort of human form, there is another problem. If we die in late life, will our parents and grandparents recognise us? Will we recognise our own children and grandchildren if they die in old age, long after we ourselves die? If we all appear as if in the prime of life, will anyone recognise anyone?

The Bible teaches only Jesus went to heaven where He came from:

John 3:13New King James Version (NKJV)13 No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.

Furthermore, there are many places in Scripture which teach death being akin to sleep and at the end of the rule of man, we all will be called to an awakening to stand before Jesus Christ in the judgment process. Those who repent and accept Jesus as their savior will be changed into spiritual beings - sons and daughters in the God Family on the New Earth (see 2 Corinthians 6:18 and Revelation 21).
