They can tell that benzodiazepine were in your system through hair follicle tests for up to 90 days, however they will not be able to figure out what subcategory you took. It will come back as (Failed for benzodiazepine) Ativan, Xanax, Valium....They will all fail a drug test for benzodiazepines.

Ativan is constantly in your system if taken on a daily basis, it will show up as a benzodiazepine. However if a doctor prescribes this for you then whoever you are getting the drug test from can not hold it against you. I would tell the drug tester I was taking it, how much of it I was taking, and if need be bring in the pill bottle with your name and the prescription number and everything on it as proof that it is a legal use of the drug. I took Xanax (same family as Ativan) for a while, 0.5 mg as needed, and it came up on a drug test. It was not held against me because my psych doctor prescribed it.
