If it is undercharging the battery yes, but if it is overcharging the battery no in most instances. If it fails completely the light will come on.
NO! where does the power (voltage and current) come from if the battery is flat/dead?
The ABS light is most likely on because of low voltage, same reason for the battery light to be on. Get your alternator tested.
Possible bad alternator.
It is possible the battery in your remote is dying...that signals a fail to start and a Check Engine Light for low remote battery voltage
The low voltage light should come on if you have a bad alternator. Without a good alternator, the battery will die causing the low voltage.
When the ignition is turned on, battery voltage passes down the wire to the alternator to 'excite' the alternator when the engine starts. When the engine starts and the alternator generates a voltage, the light is extinguised by the charging voltage cancelling out the battery voltage coming down the wire. If and when the alternator completetly fails the the light will come back on as there is no sancelling voltage. if the alternator produces a voltage lower than the voltage from the ignition switch then the battery light will glow.
The battery light can come on due to a low charging voltage. Check the alternator for full output, and make sure that the alternator belt is not slipping.
The alternator may not be able to keep up to the voltage requirement of the vehicle check voltage output of alternator w/mechanical gauge
The output voltage from the alternator is either too low or too high.
It can but the Battery light should be on. Check with a digital multimeter what the voltage is at the battery, If its 13-14 volts with the car running the alternator is probably o/k
The battery light comes on when the alternator is either over or under charging. If the alternator tested good you have a wiring or computer problem. The engine computer is the voltage regulator.
Why would battery light come on then go off
