Dual and more cores allow the computer to basically do more then one thing at once. This will increase the speed in which it can accomplish tasks. SO if you are looking for a faster computer dual or greater cores are a good thing.

Depends on the application. If you are doing alot of multitasking (running many programs at once) then a multi-core will be a good option. CPU clock speed is relative in this because it is common knowledge that a good dual core processor can outperform quad cores in gaming at times. This is because most games out now do not utilize the 4 cores. So in conclusion it really depends on what you want to do. For gaming, a dual core is a good option, for heavy multitasking a 4 core may be good for you.

There are a few good laptops for running Windows Vista. Samsung have produced some laptops which work very well with Vista. Acer and Compaq are also two very good brands on which to run Vista.

In Vista go to control panel then network and sharing center under sharing turn on all options (personally i keep these off when not moving files) move desired file to c/users/public on xp go to my network places find the vista computer's public folder with desired files inside move to a new spot and blamo you're good.
