This is my opinion, but I think it is because as a country - we are slowly maturing. We are starting to become ever so slightly more open minded. More tolerant. We are starting to understand ourselves, our past - all of it - the good and the terrible and slowly make atonements for it. It is my hope that our country can take personal accountability for its past actions, own up to them and learn from them. Teach our youth the value of understanding history and improving tolerance for everyone. In today's world where faith, all faiths, are shaken to the core by the miseries of daily life and the hardness of the world around us - people search for hope. Witchcraft and many other "pagan" traditions appeal to people who feel they have been let down by their major world religions. Since they aren't mainstream, they have a sense of mystical quality about it that tends to draw more people. When they find out witchcraft is about honoring the earth, protecting the weak, protecting animal rights and things like that - then people tend to get bored with it.A witch looks like a person. They don't look any different from anybody else unless you can see auras - then you can tell a witch from a non-witch!

In the First world people tend to eat more animal products and processed/packaged foods. In the Third World, people eat more plant-based diets and tend to prepare it more themselves.
