Persistant rumors suggest this; people who have known JFK have said that he had many; Angie Dickenson will not answer this question when asked. The Marilyn Monroe stories are very prevalent. There are others...
It would have been very bad publicity for the First Family. It may be argued the Kennedy Family circa l960-63 and even beyond in the Jackie Onassis era was arguably the closest Americans ever had-in the media sense to the First Family of a Monarchy or Empire- such as the Windsors or the ill-starred Romanovs. Not only newspapers and magazines-not confined to Newsweek types, virtually Lionized the Kennedys, but all sorts of printed matter, one-shot magazines ( not all of this posthumous JFK stuff ) and so on, but even the Movie magazines jumped into the bandwagon! There was a fiar amount of gossip in the movie mags about Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon, a British nobleman she was involved with, romantically.-but the Kennedy family was center stage and generally in a laudable pose. it would have been bad business for Mr. Kennedy to get involved with other women, scandals are one thing but in the White House, with this positive Camelot atmospheric legend-no way. John and Jackie Kenendy wwere shown in the most glowing, cloyenne light- it is difficult to see how the president would want to invite any scandal. for this reason the Monroe scandals seemed to be fabricated way after the fact, like retouched dinosaur fossils. it is hard to swallow. Kennedy was a devout Catholic, Monroe was not. dot dot dot.
Bobby was known as a non-smoker, non-drinker, and a husband who doesn't cheat. But according to the T.V mini series of The Kennedys showed that Robert Kennedy did actually slide into Marylin Monroe's attention. He obviously was nervous because he's never had an affair, unlike Jack A.K.A J.F.K who had an affair with the actress. Yet after his brother J.F.K died, he and Jackie had a 4-year 'affair', though they never were sexually. He felt like he had to take his brother's place and make sure Jackie was protected from the media. He grew to love her, as she did for him. But obviously it never went anywhere when Jackie got re-married to a man he didn't approve of.
