Is it a diesel? If no then disregard the following. If yes then NO ETHER! Its very damaging to this engine. Never use it. If this motor and its electronics are functioning properly it will start down to 0 or maybe less all by itself and even easier with the block heater plugged in. Make sure you have fuel reaching filter. Open petcock and purge fuel bowl. Be sure filter is in properly and resealed with big O ring (You may want to partially fill the bowl with fresh fuel first but usually isn't necessary) Check all your fuses under hood and under dash...every one of them! Plug in the block heater for a few hours even if its 40 or 50 degrees out. Switch to other fuel tank and treat your fuel with a half quart of 911 treatment per fill up in each tank (below30 degrees). You may need glowplugs replaced or the relay for them. This is a very forgiving engine but don't push your luck. Be patient, do your Prev. Maint. and talk nice to it and it will last nearly forever. Mine has 233,350+ m. and all original and runs as good as the day I bought it , 15 to 20 mpg. Best truck/motor ever paired together. good luck 1996 F-350 7.3LPSD owner
Check the timing.
To get the 2009 NPR started after replacing the fuel filter, simply start the engine.
i replaced the steering column and the fuel filter. the radio was stolen
It should start with no problems if you have done everything right. If it does not then use some starter fluid to get it going. Make sure you also replaced the fuel filter.
What do you mean by not doing the job?? Do you have a loss of power, wont start?
If you didn't fill the new filter up with clean diesel fuel when you assembled it, you introduced air into the system.
was fuel filter replaced
Could be several things, Crank sensor on distributor, bad oil pressure switch, bad computer. If you cycle the key on then off, do you hear the fuel pump run? When you try cranking the engine what is the oil pressure gauge at 350 Vortec engines require 20+ psi oil pressure to trigger the distriuter to fire.
Maybe a O2 censor.
hello how are you?
Check your Carb. Have had problems the float needle valve. Black particles stopping the valve (seemed to have started when we went to 10% Ethanol).
if this a cold weather start, u need to either use a block heater to keep engine warm, park in a shed, or give a 2 second squirt of starter fluid(ether) into the air cleaner before ya try to start if ether makes it start quickly it is cold weather problem
