I just checked out my day time running light failure on my silverado and found that the body control module was not sending the feed to the DRL or day time runnig light relay located under the hood fuse box. You can check by pulling the relay and putting a jumper a cross the relay switch contacts. If the day time running lights come on you need to swap that relay with one of the same type. If it still don't work more then likely its the BCM, but check the drl fuse and the fuse that feeds the relay before replaceing the BCM.
The airbag control module on a 2000 gmc Sierra 1500 is usually mounted at the bottom of the radiator. There is one placed on each side of the radiator.Ê
Below the steering wheel and above the pedals
there is a number of things that could cause this. here are a few easy ones to check. is the e-brake fully disengaged. are the bulbs burnt out. is the wiring harness plugged into the daytime lights bulbs and in good condition. if these check out, you may have a fault in the daytime running light module.
push in the e brake pedal 1 click
That would be inside the polar control unit
Same thing happened to me. 92 Sierra 5.0, it was the ignition control module ~$50.00
the running light circuit wire is brown. If you are looking in either the front marker lamps or the rear tail lights.
Check the fuse for the brake lights. It should be marked stop/haz on the fuse box cover.
check your fuse box on the side dash of the drivers door if im not mistaken it is the #3 fuse 10 amp.
there should be a fuse under the hood or under your fuse block that probably blew
If by "dim headlights" you mean low-beams... the bulbs are bad and must be replaced.
