Im not an expert on these 88 models, but I did look at a wire diagram for it. On both the 4-cyl. and the 6-cyl. the power is routed thru the fuse panel, the fuel pump relay and the oil pressure switch. But you have to remember that the pump itself is over 20 years old.....Check that it is getting power to the pump.
The coolant level sensor is faulty.
Hey John==It wouldn't start. Of course there are other things that would cause it not to start. It uses the cam sensor to tell it where #1 is. GoodluckJoe
Where is a camshaft position sensor located on a 2002 Cadillac deville? Not sure why the question was answered by a question for a different car but: 1. The camshaft position sensor for a Saturn S-series does not exist. The PCM may throw a trouble code for improper camshaft timing, or a faulty camshaft sensor when the electronic ignition module has malfunctioned. Saturn uses a dummy camshaft pulse generated by the ignition module to fool the PCM into thinking it has a cam sensor. The camshaft sensor circuit fails most often, resulting in poor performance, and trouble code indicators. 2. The camshaft position sensor for a 2002 cadillac deville is located on the driver side of the front bank cylinder head. If this were a cadilliac question form, i would have included a picture.
Rear camshaft seal bad. Replace. located behind cam sensor.
In order to replace the camshaft position sensor, you would need to disconnect the electrical plug holding it in. Using a socket, hold down the bolt and remove the camshaft position sensor.
It's behind one of the camshaft pulleys. Why would a CRANKSHAFT position sensor be behind a CAMSHAFT pulley ??
A bad crankshaft sensor will cause a vehicle not to start. The sensor sends a pulse to the system so that the spark plugs fire at the precise moment. If the sensor is intermittent then sometimes the vehicle wont start for no apparent reason, or may turn off while driving. Not sure if the question is about camshaft sensors or crankshaft sensors. Some vehicles will run with the camshaft sensor faulty or unplugged. But it would illuminate the "Check Engine" light.
The camshaft position sensor on a 4.3L engine would be in the distributor.
To test a 1995 Cavalier crank sensor you would need to get a mechanic's computer. They can put a sensor/fuse tester on it and see if it is working properly.
AnswerBY CHANGEING IT OR SIMPLY GOING FOR A DIAGNOSISThere are several position sensors (crankshaft, camshaft, throttle, EGR). Any one of them would illuminate the "Check Engine" light and the code(s) would lead you to the faulty one.
A faulty crank sensor would make the engine not run.
