It's behind one of the camshaft pulleys.
Why would a CRANKSHAFT position sensor be behind a CAMSHAFT pulley ??
The crankshaft sensor is located on top of the transmission at the passenger side.
Locate the front wire on the distributer and follow. it will lead to the crankshaft position sensor.
You will find the crankshaft position sensor on the passengers side of the engine block, close to the starter.

Someone believes you should, "Take Your coolant tank off and the sensor is located under it. It's fairlly simple to replace once you find it."; You will find a sensor there but not the crankshaft sensor. On a 99 Intrigue with a 3.5L, the crankshaft position sensor is in the engine block just above and behind the starter. get under the car, remove the starter and you should find what you are looking for.
Look behind the driver wheel at the cranckshaft pulley. There will be a sensor there. It is the pulley with the teeth.
You can find the map sensor behind the passenger side dashboard. You will need to remove the glove box in order to access the map sensor.
The placement of a crankshaft sensor on a Citreon c4 is on top of the bell housing towards the back of the engine. Since this can be difficult to get to, follow the wires up until you find it.
Remove the lower timing belt cover and then the sensor should be to the right of the crankshaft pully.
The sensor reads from the flywheel so look to the back of the engine or the front of the transmission bellhousing to find it.
how can i find where the camshaft sensor on a 1990 mercury marquis
You will usually find the crankshaft position sensor at one end or the other of the engine block. Some engines will have it bolted to the block near the front pulley. Others will have it bolted to the bell housing, right over the flywheel. In any case you should find it near one end of the crankshaft or the other.
