Acid fast organism would be gram positive.

The above answer is incorrect. Acid-fast bacteria would be "gram negative."
Bacteria such as these have very different cell walls which contain a great deal of waxy material, although they still contain peptidoglycan. This waxy material prevents stain penetration, rendering the cell invisible.
Since these acid-fast bacteria are not stained by Gram's Stain Method they have been characterized as "gram negative."

Heres what the text book says. This is a tricky question based on opinion.
"Their cell walls are unique among the gram-positive bacteria because they consist of other layers in addition to peptidoglycan. An important component of their walls is a group of fatty acids called mycolic acids. Some have proposed that the mycolic acids form a bilayer structure that is analogous to the outer membrane of gram-negative bacteria."
So answer one is technically correct but they characteristics as those of gram negative cells (answer 2).

Although mycoplasma lack a cell wall and therefore test gram negative, they are considered to be descendents of 'nonsporulating and endospore forming gram-positive bacteria' (Madigan et al., 2009), such as Lactobacilli, Bacilli and Streptococci, (Dandekar et al., 2002), which have lost their cell wall. Mycoplasmas are therfore classed as gram- positive bacteria. This is supported by ribosomal RNA and DNA analysis.
No. Fehling's test is positive for glucose which forms gluconic acid as the product.
Acids turn litmus paper red, and alkalis turn it blue. ... Acid rain can have terrible effects on a forest. The acid takes away important minerals that the forests need to survive
because DNA is of negative charge thus it will travel towards the positive pole due to attraction.....and the movement of the DNA is also facilitated by the repulsion of the positive pole which is near by to DNA
it is positive
The components of lead acid batteries include: * The outer case, or housing. * Plates [Positive and Negative]. * Intercell connectors. * Terminals [Positive and Negative]. * Electrolyte [Sulphuric Acid].
Crystals in the urine are probably uric acid, although there are other possibilities such as oxalic acid. Crystals are not negative or positive, they are neutral. An ionic compound is composed of both positive and negative ions, which add up to a neutral compound.
I couldn't tell you what were the odds, but I hope this helps: You could be killing your oxidase activity if your organism was no longer viable. When identifying organisms you should always use fresh cultures. Regardless, some strains of Pseudomonas aeruginosa can test oxidase negative. a TSI slant would confirm if you were dealing with a presumptive pseudomonad or an enteric. Enterics will have a strong acid reaction (because they ferment) and Pseudomonas would have no acid (or a very weak acid) reaction. Happy streaking!

Neither. No substance on its own on is an ion. Nitric acid is electrically neutral. When dissolved in water, nitric acid breaks apart, releasing both positive hydronium ions and negative nitrate ions.
By doing differential stains on an unknown organism, you can learn more about that organism. One of the most helpful stains would be the Gram stain. The gram stain will differentiate from Gram positive and Gram negative cells, narrowing your bacteria down a lot. Other stains include: Acid-Fast stain, Capsule stain, Endospore stain, and PHB stain.

A positive ion is an ion with no negative charges.
