why is there squeek noise when starting and then goes away when engine warms up
If that's the extent of the complaint, check the serpentine belt and tensioner.
A faulty belt tensioner and/or a worn belt. A run down battery could add to it.
A worn belt A worn bearing on one of the accessories driven by the belt A worn-out belt tensioner If the vehicle is an older one and does not have a spring-loaded belt tensioner it may also be just a loose belt.
The year and engine size would help us help you.
Slipping or glazed belt? Belt driven accessory (alternator/ water pump etc.)? Belt tensioner?
I would suspect one of two things. Either the replacement belt is not the correct size or the belt tensioner is bad. The squealing sounds like a loose belt which would also account for the battery light. possible bad battery causing the alternator to work too hard
Check for a vacuum leak around the throtle body and intake manifold.
As viewing the motor from the front of the car, the belt tensioner is located on the left side of the engine. On what is essentially the front of the motor, the belt tensioner is located just below the idler pulley.
Though there are several possibilities, by far the most common reason for that is a loose or glazed belt in the engine compartment.
It was a coil pack.
Yes, I would say so. -Investigate and cure the squealing before driving far.
When refilling the oil some may have dripped onto the belt which would cause it to start slipping badly and squealing loudly.
