on remembarence Sunday we remember men who died in the world war. we wear poppies since they are the colour of blood and most men died in flanders fields and are buried there. if you were to go there the field they fought in would be covered in standing up crosses. we remember them since they fought for us, to stop Hitler and the Germans taking over our lives today. flanders fields are covered in poppies.
Poppies are used to celebrate November 11th. Poppy's favorite flowers were poppies. The red poppies popped against the green field. The poppies were wild flowers.
Flanders Field in Belgium. A cometary for WW1 soldiers. In Flanders Fields the poppies blow, Between the crosses row on row. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The reason for this is that the WW1 battle fields were stripped of vegetation and turned into fields of mud by the shelling that went on. Poppy seeds lie dormant in the soil for many, many years and when the ground is disturbed and they are brought up to the surface they sprout and flower the next summer. The battle fields of WW1 therefore turned into solid fields of bright red poppies, a striking sight that, given what had happened there, would have made a deep impression on anybody who saw them (hence the poem). In the UK on remembrance day (11/11) people wear red poppies and lay poppy wreaths in memory of the WW1 fallen.
The reason that poppies grew so widly in Flander's fields is because when the bodies of all of the dead soldiers from world war I were buried in Flande's field the decomposing bodies became a fertilizer to the soil and made enough nutrients to make poppies, which eventually began to grow all over the Field, making it covered in red.
A person from Flanders is typically referred to as a "Fleming."
oh it would be hard to say but probably like millions of poppies. Around 40 million poppies are sold each year.
That would be Anne of Cleaves, Henry's fourth wife. He said she was ugly and called here 'The fat mare of Flanders's' (she was from a place in Germany, close to Flanders's)
I would say it is fairly famous.
The poem "In Flanders Fields" by John McCrae was targeted at readers to remember and honor those who died in World War I. It aimed to evoke a sense of remembrance and reverence for the soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice on the battlefield.

Yeah, that would be great. if you have any neighbors, try to find out if they have any rosebushes, or something. Of course, if you live in a rural area, try to find a field or open space with a few flowers. Poppies are the best, if you can find them. Hope this helps!
