What does a power supply fan do?
A power supply fan keeps the power supply cool. The semiconductor components get hot in a switching power supply, and this fan keeps things cool and helps prevent the power supply from damaging itself from excessive heat. As an example, when you play games, the video card requires a lot more current. That means the power supply has to work harder. The switching transistors in the power supply have to operate at a higher frequency and pass electricity through them a higher percentage of the time. That in turn causes them to get hot. The fan helps pull this heat away and protects these components.

Find out what the VA capacity of the power supply is and then add up the connected load in VA (volts x amps). If the load totals are greater that the VA power supply capacity then this is where the heat is coming from. The power supply is overloaded. Personally, I wouldn't use less than a 300 Watt power supply in that situation. But then, I never use less than a 500 Watt power supply when replacing a power supply or building a computer. The advantage is, the larger power supply can easily handle the load and will not run as hot. Since electronic components typically fail more rapidly when they get hot, the larger power supply will usually last much longer. But that's just a suggestion.

It depends on what the wires are connected to and where the power supply is located. If the switch is lighted power has to get to the switch for the light. With a lighted switch you have a hot supply side, a neutral and then the wire going to the bell. So if Black 1 and Red 1 are supply voltage you would connect Red 1 to the hot side of switch, Black 1 would go to common as would Black 2. Red 2 would go to Bell side of the switch.
