It is most likeley that the trany is down shifting to pull the load better causing the RPM change (hunting gears). Try using the overdrive button when there is a load hooked on to prevent the trany from shifting into overdrive. Or my favorite option is to turn up the trucks HP, it tends to cost a little more than pushing the OD button but is much funner. what speed is it doing it at? if about 50 - 55 in o/d and if it does it between 30-40 with o/d off, then I would say you might have the typical cummin tcc problem. also how meny miles and how hard are you pushing it?... my cummin has the issue. I just put a switch in the line between the pcm and the transmission so I can turn the tcc off. I add about 100 rpm to my engine speed at highway, but I dont have the busy torque convertor problem.... hope it help in the hunt for a solution
