Usually, but not always.
When you accelerate it probably does not quit blowing but rather blows out the defroster vent. This would indicate a vacumn leak or possibly a bad vacumn check valve. The check valve is located in the vacumn line that goes through the firewall somewhere between the firewall and where it connects to the engine. Check the vacumn with a vacumn guage (pump) in line going into the dash for vacumn leak. Hope this helps. Keith
check vacumn tube lines for cracks or disconnections...bank of vacumn lines are back of engine, right side, by computer modules.
Yes it can.
The most likely cause is a dilution of the fuel/ air mixture caused by a vacumn leak. check for a hissing sound near the top center of the engine.

No, low gas cannot cause a Check Engine light to turn on. There would have to be a problem within the engine or the engine wiring for that light to come on.
There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.
Engine missfire. Cylinder #4
A faulty gas cap could cause the check engine light to come on but it would not cause a rough idle or engine noises. Start with having your local auto parts store read the codes. The codes will help determine why the check engine light is on.
Have someone check your Engine mount
