you could build a guitar out of ANYTHING. the question is whether or not it would function properly. the resonant qualities of acrylic are not ideal for an acoustic guitar, while an electric guitar wouldnt much be affected by the materials its made of, since, most of the sound and tonal qualities are achieved though the pickups, electronics and amplifier. hope this helps -Kyse

Why would you pick a triangle guitar to build?
Your question wasn't full formed. If you're asking why someone would build a triangle shaped acoustic then I have no answer. I do however doubt that a triangular shaped acoustic would bring anything beneficial to its sound and would make it even harder to sit an play it. Now if you're talking about a triangular shaped electric guitar then the answer is simple, It's about cosmetics and preferences, because there is no sonic benefit that I'm aware of.

Is acoustic guitar an original blues instrument?
No. The guitar was invented 100s of years earlier than the blues. And when the blues began out of rag the major instrument was the piano or the dobro or steel guitar for slide work. The guitar was really a poor mans instrument easy to play and build a decent one but not great or good one. Original guitars were gut and nylon. Steel strings came much later. Blues with guitar are common. Blues with guitar and steel guitar and harmonica are the best.
