Yes, I have been there before. I stayed at the Sonesta. The natives ar freindly, I even made a friend! He was the towel guy at the pool. I stayed on the Dutch side which is spelled Saint Martin. The beaches were nice exept when it was a nude beach. Unfortunatly the best beach on the island (Orient Beach) is nude. But you learn to ignore them. The goegraphy is mostly hills and mountains. You may find the wild cats very friendly and will want food while you eat, that is if you stay at the Sonesta. Phillisburg is not the greatest looking place but jewlrey is cheap. Wild dogs, pigs, and chickens roam here. If you ever seen the movie "Speed" I think its called, but the part where the boat crashes into the "city" that scene takes place in the French side of St. Martin. The French spelling is Sint Maarten. The French side is genrally cleaner. At Orient Beach me and my family took a jet ski tour/ride. We saw wild cattle roaming one of the mountains we went by. You'll absolutly love St. Martin especilly if your 18. Eighteen or older is the drinking and casino age limit. During your flight you might have to stop at San Juan, Peurto Rico to transfer planes. The Peurto Ricans gave me an evil eye LOL!!
