anaerobic

What kind of respiration produces lactic acid?

Anaerobic Respiration produces lactic acid through a process known as "lactic acid fermentation."

What do yeasts produce during fermentation?

Carbon Dioxide and a kind of Alcohol called Ethanol.

In what kind of environment would you expect to find organisms that carry out fermentation?

in an environment where there is little or no oxygen. aerobic respiration requires oxygen ad when it is not present fermentaion (anaerobic respiration) occurs because it works when oxygen isn't there

What kind of organisms carry out respiration?

Anaerobes like archaebacteria and other microorganisms

What kind of exercise does not require the use of oxygen to metabolize energy?

Anaerobic

What is the difference between anaerobic respriation and aerobic respriation?

The difference between anaerobic respiration and aerobic respiration is that with Type one which is slow twitch the muscles are aerobic (uses oxygen). Therefore, this is why when biking, jogging, and swimming, for example, you will not get as fatigued and you will have more endurance. The other respiration would be type two which is fast twitch, which are anaerobic (require no oxygen) these are vulnerable to accumulation of lactic acid and can fatigue easily, this kind of muscle twitch is found most often being used by weight lifters, and sprinters, or perhaps, someone swinging a golf club. This type is found to be designed for strength.

What are some proposed causes of skeletal muscle fatigue?

I think you are talking about the effect of exercise on the human body. There's two types of respiration humans use, when exercising - aerobic respiration - when oxygen is plenty, thus when you are not panting and getting enough oxygen you are using the kind of respiration. It requires the prescence of oxygen and glucose and produces 38 ATP and carbon dioxide, which is is exhaled. The other respiration, when you are panting and not gettiong enough air, is called anaerobic respiration. It only requires the prescence of glucose and only produces 2 ATP and lactic acid, which attacks your muscles, making you feel fatigued and produces muscle pain. Hope this anmswers your question. Fun Fact: The more time it takes for your body to go into anaerobic respiration, the more fit you are ! :)

What kind of chemical reactions that release energy from sugars?

The oxidation/ reduction of sugars release energy during respiration. The phenomenon of liberation of energy from sugars is a katabolic process. Does yeast need oxygen specifically o2 to survive if not what kind of oxygen or compound molecule etc does it need to survive?

Yeast species either require oxygen for aerobic cellular respiration (obligate aerobes) or are anaerobic, but also have aerobic methods of energy production (facultative anaerobes). Unlike bacteria, there are no known yeast species that grow only anaerobically (obligate anaerobes). Yeasts grow best in a neutral or slightly acidic pH environment. (Wikipedia:Yeast)
