If he wants to leave the country you must respect his decision and try to keep him and the children in regular touch. The phone, internet, email, photos and handwritten mail will all help here. You may no longer be together, or even in the same part of the world, but you still remain a family unit in that you are two parents with two children who need stability in their lives. It won't be easy, but the alternatives are even less easy. Don't cut ties; your kids don't deserve that.
