It sounds like he's trying to make himself clear that he wants to be just friends. Leave it at that and save your dignity by simply agreeing. If 2 people are meant to be together - they will be...! (And try to understand - from someone that was 13 once - your emotions are running at 1000% right now! When you look back, you'll see that all the tears that you might put in to this, were really just wasted...) Try NOT to feel as though it's the end of the world...
