you could get a lawyer to make her give the ring back. but since you gave her the ring in the first place, i would just chalk it up as one of those 'failed love' relationships and move on. perhaps think about it a bit harder before you give another girl a promise ring.

yeah, and also, you totally should not have asked for it in the first place. it's not funny or anything, it's just mean. and she's probably confused why you did. apologize for that, and make it up to her somehow, and hopefully she will forgive you.
