No, the Hydramatic 4T80-E transmission in a 2002 Cadillac Seville SLS is not a continuously variable transmission (CVT). It is a four-speed automatic transmission that uses a torque converter and traditional gear sets to change gears. CVTs operate differently by varying the gear ratio continuously, rather than shifting through fixed gears.
A common problem m[ght be the starter gear teeth worn or broken or starter mounting bolts loose.
On a 1978 Cadillac Seville, the neutral safety switch is typically located on the transmission, near the gear selector linkage. It is designed to prevent the engine from starting unless the transmission is in the "Park" or "Neutral" position. Accessing it may require lifting the vehicle and working underneath, as it is mounted on the side of the transmission. Be sure to consult the vehicle's service manual for specific details and procedures.
To remove the neutral safety switch from a 1997 Cadillac Seville, first disconnect the battery to ensure safety. Locate the switch on the transmission, which is typically mounted near the gear selector mechanism. Remove any electrical connectors and then unscrew the mounting bolts securing the switch. Finally, carefully pull the switch off the transmission and replace it with a new one if needed.
The neutral safety switch on a 1994 Cadillac DeVille is typically located on the transmission, near the base of the gear selector. It is mounted on the transmission case and is connected to the gear shift cable. This switch prevents the engine from starting unless the transmission is in the "Park" or "Neutral" position. Accessing it may require raising the vehicle and removing some components for better visibility.
it depends on the model of the cadillac
put it in gear and it should 'pop' out again
Put it in gear
check the CV joints or the transmission is slipping
It can be fast idle or it can be damaged motor mounts.
