well I read about this happening somewhere else I cant really recal it but from what I remember the o2 sensors where changed and then there is a problem in the wiring with o2 sensors
According to my Haynes repair manual : ( 3 ) for the V6 engine and ( 4 ) for the V8 engine
There are a total of ( 4 oxygen sensors ) according to the engine wiring schematic for the 1997 Mercury Mountaineer in my Haynes repair manual ( 2 oxygen sensors are " upstream " sensors used by the PCM to adjust the air / fuel ratio of the engine ) ( 2 oxygen sensors are " downstream " sensors / catalyst monitors )
My Chilton repair manual - engine wiring schematic shows ( 2 ) heated oxygen sensors for the 1993 Ford Explorer
According to my Haynes repair manual : For a 1997 Ford Explorer , 4.0 liter Single Over Head Cam , V6 engine : The engine wiring schematic shows ( 4 ) oxygen sensors
Your car engine will stop.
My Haynes repair manual shows 2 oxygen sensors mounted between the engine and catalytic converter(s) and 2 oxygen sensors mounted after the catalytic converter(s) which are called catalyst monitors and monitor the efficiency of the catalytic converter(s) on your 1997 Explorer XLT with the 4.0 L SOHC engine
Where is located the vehicle speed sensor for F-150 XLT 2000 manual transmission, engine 4.2
it can be done. it is a pain to do so. It will more than likely require several parts and sensors to be changed as well. Not cheap to do. hope it helps. duboff
The temperature sensors for automatic climate control are located at the air intake for recirculation of cabin air under the dashboard.
It depends on the vehicle. If the car was offered with a manual transmission or there are other cars with the same engine that have a manual transmission, then yes you can have stick shift installed.
You can find a manual for the Buick engine by checking the packaging the original engine came in as the manual is commonly transported with the engine itself.
Yes you can, however that is not a simple operation. the 2.1 engine is smaller and is also a 4 cylinder, the 3.1 is a v6. Among other things that are different will be the wire harness for the engine and the computer. Also make sure that the transmission bell housing will bolt up before you buy anything. The Big 3 have a tendency to change things at will. With that in mind what you would need are the following - 3.1 engine, engine harness- complete with sensors, and the computer for a 3.1 engine for that same year. Also if you have a manual make sure you stick to a manual computer. The automatic computer has other sensors and things it monitors. you can make an automatic computer work with a manual transmission but it will give you check engine lights and other codes. However you can not make a manual computer work with an auto transmission. Bear in mind that you are doing a complete engine swap - many people do these however this is not a beginners project - experienced gear heads only.
