Everything is the same except the case and the valve body. I've parted out a lot of low mileage S-10's with 4L60E trannys and pulled the guts out and built 700R4's.
The 4.3 V6 tranny's are the same as the V8 tranny's. You can do the same with 4 cyl tranny's but the torque converter, pump and front shaft is different.
No it will not because the96 Tahoe has a 4L60E electronic transmission in it. The 85 transmission is not a electronic transmission. WILL not WORK.
NO, That year truck MUST have the 4L60E transmission put in it.
NO not even possible, just look at them side by side and you will see the difference. One is electronic and one is not. The letter E means electronic.
If that 700R4 was attached to a mechanical engine (or even a TBI engine, which only had basic electronic functions), it's not going to work... there's no engine ECM for that transmission ECM on the 4L60E to interface with.
First of all is that the 94 suburban has a 4L60E transmission in it. Therefore it will no work in the 87 model.
NO IT WILL NOT WORK. The 99 MUST HAVE A 4L60E TRANSMISSION put back in it.
Any 4L60E transmission, 1993 and up. The mechanical 4L60 and 700R4 from 1992 and earlier will not work.
You burban should have a 4l60e in it. All this is is a 700r4 with electronics added. If the bell housing is the same it will fit but it won't work due to the electronics.
It'll fit, but it won't work - the 4L60E is an electronically controlled transmission, whereas the 4L60 (itself simply a rebadged 700R4) is a mechanically controlled transmission. 1992 was the last year mechanical transmissions were used in these vehicles.
No. Unless you replace the motor. The 1995 Pontiac/Chevrolet 5.7L LT1 is electronically controlled and the 4L60E is also electronically controlled. Both must be present for the drive-train to operate. If you replace the motor with a standard 5.7L non-electronic, you could put a 700R4 transmission in the car. Yes it will. The 4L60E is an electronic version of the 700r4. You need to slightly modify it but it will work. My 86 Iroc is rolling a LT1 from a 97 Fbody and a beefed up 700r4
NO. The 89 model electronics will not shift the 96 transmission. It will not even begain to work. You should put the 700R4 back in it.
First of all, The 97 trucks did not have the 700r4 in them. The 1/2 tons had the 4L60E and the 3/4 tons used the 4L80E. Any year 700r4 transmission will work in the 84 as long as it is out of a truck.
