leaking in large amounts? i would check a cracked hose.
Maybe there's coolant leaking from somewhere. (I don't know!)
its probably leaking from somewhere else and dripping off at the tranny area. pressurize the coolant system so that you can detect the leak and go from there.
Coolant leaking from the heater core.
Because it's leaking somewhere. Other than lines in the cooling system, head and intake manifold gaskets are a possibility.
is coolant leaking from engine?or is it leaking from water pump and running down engine and appears to leak from engine
If coolant is leaking from a car it means that your radiator has a hole in it. If this is not fixed the car will over heat.
Example sentence - The coolant in my car was leaking out.
This should happen automatically. Are you losing coolant, is the cooling system leaking somewhere? Have you just changed the coolant? Unless there is a leak, the system should purge by itself.
It could be the radiator, the hoses, a leaking coolant tank or the water pump.
If your talking about coolant leaking on the passenger floor then it means your heater core is leaking and needs to be replaced.
1. Water pump possibly weak, failing or leaking coolant 2. Thermostat is not operating correctly or the housing for it is leaking coolant. 3. The water jacket in the engine block has possible restrictions or leaks somewhere. Head gasket breach...leaking coolant? Freeze plugs on side of block? 4. The radiator hoses (upper or lower) have issues and are leaking. What area of the engine compartment is the STEAMING COOLANT coming from? Top, Bottom, Front, Back, Radiator, Engine etc. (This info is important for anyone to be able to help diagnose the problem without being able to ACTUALLY see it).
Obviously, there is a leak somewhere. It's possible that it is the gasket leaking, and sorry to tell you that it will be pretty expensive to replace. Without more details of the leaking, I can't tell you much more. When mine was leaking, I was able to get it fixed under warranty. I hope you are as lucky.
