I'd check the battery cables, both at the battery and where they connect to the solenoid and starter. Make sure to check the ground cable too. It should have a solid ground to the engine before the starter will work properly.

it very well might be the teeth on your flywheel.. You have to pull flywheel cover where starter goes agnist the block and transmission and look to see if the teeth are ground down a lil bit..

Cadillac wont start or turn over?

No car can start until it turns over. Meaning the starter has to engage. So you have at least one problem or more. You have to have a good battery and it has to be 12.6 volts and remain at 8-12 vol;ts while trying to crank. When you cut the ignition on - the instrument panel has to light up and when you go to "start " you have to hear a soleniod in the starter go clunk. No clunk? There is a problem in the circuit to the soleniod. Clunks - but no turn over? Bad connection from the starter to the battery or bad starter.

How much movement should there be in an upper ball joint?

There should not be any movement or play in a ball joint. If there is, your tire will not hold the road properly and you will get uneven wear on your tires. You may also hear clunks when you turn the wheel. If there is any play, the joint needs to be replaced.

Clunking when you hit a bump? Push down on the front and release. If it clunks then, it's a strut. Do each corner and you can tell which side it's on, but both should be replaced
