It could mean a number of things. Just take her word for it. Things tend to get tangled up when a single person tries to figure something out from their own perspective.
She could like you but want a unique type of relationship. She could be dating another guy but she wants to get away from him and go with you. She could just want to be friends. She could just be really hungry lol.
Just listen to her and keep honesty up front. If you want to ask her something, just do it. There's absolutely nothing to be afraid of. What's the worst that could happen honestly? You won't regret anything once you get her to tell you the things you'd like to know directly.
Just like she came out and said she wants to be friend for now. It's not a game more than likely. That's just what she wants you to go by for now. She's waiting for you to ask her questions if she's mature.
