You just put a 318 in your Dodge truck when you bring 1 TDC the dist points to 2?

take it around one more revolution, TDC is meant to be in the compression stroke and you may be in the exhaust stroke. if that does not help then you may need to remove the distributor and replace it in the right alignment.
