You left the gas cap off on your 2005 Scion Tc and the check engine light came on how do you reset it?

My 2006 xA engine light will periodically come on even thought the gas cap is on. When that happens, I remove the cap and replace it double-clicking it to make sure it is sealed tight. I'm going to try and clean the gasket on the cap and where the gasket seals on the tube to remody the problem.
