okay , im no expert but if he's a friendly person i think you should try to develop a good friendship with him before you tell him. and if you are too shy to tell him try the occassional 'hi' and smile to break the ice.

you can also try to make him laugh, everyone appreciates a good laugh now and then

just don't completely avoid him, i made that mistake, and I'll never do it again!!

Sometimes it may be easy for you to just tell him , but if you do make sure its at the right time and place , and if you don't want to be embarrassed don't bring along friend's. You could also try telling a close friend you know won't share important information (like your crush) and then get them to tell him that you like him he is interested in you,he will talk about it ,but if not he won't ask you about it, and sometimes he may just be too shy to talk. you want him to notice you try and catch a momment where he is looking up, and then look into his eyes he may start to be attracted.Also when he makes a joke Don't laugh like some crazy person,he will think you are weird, just giggle if he look at you if you smiled when he said the joke that may mean he can be into you. hope this helped you out ,oh and remember don't stare to much.

I would tell the boy that I like him. If I wasn't sure I wanted to tell him I would ask him to hang out, and I would figure out if I like him enough to tell him. If I did not want to tell him I would figure that I don't actually like him very much.
