If certain precautions are taken Hondas CAN be towed with all-4 down. This procedure is recommended by Honda Customer Service. This information applies to automatic transmission vehicles. (1) At beginning of day, start the engine and run the transmission through ALL the gear positions - pausing momentarily in each position. (2) Put shift lever in NEUTRAL and turn off engine BUT DO NOT REMOVE KEY OR LOCK THE IGNITION and the steering wheel. (3) You may tow the vehicle for up to 500 miles. EVERY 500 MILES THIS PROCEDURE MUST BE REPEATED. Inasmuch as most motorhomes rarely travel more than this distance per day, this can be a once-a-day procedure. Standard shift vehicles can be towed by simply placing the transmission in neutral and leaving the ignition (and the steering wheel) unlocked.
