If you want to get signed to a record label the first thing you need to consider is "Whats in it for me" as a artist myself i believe it is best to go with a Indie record label rather than a major one.. because with a major record label they tell you what to do and how to do it to get them the most money out of your talent.. I've come accross a few labels which specialise in just helping you develop your talent such as crossnature records, speedjam ent, anuva era ent and a few more.. these 3 which I've stated are more services than labels but still classed as a label, once you're signed up they will offer you the services for free which they charge other people for such as project managment and studio time.. they will provide the music for you to record other and artwork for the CD and anything else they can assist you with in the process.

with these type of labels you get to put an input into what you wanna do they will not control what you do just guide you in the right direction. also speedjam and anuva era have a service to get you gigs and shows so that venues can hire you for there event. the ratings for this service in the "quality and performance 2008" are as following:

Anuva Era Ent 9/10

Speedjam Ent 6/10

which are very remarkable scores

these labels will take you on providing you have a talent to rap sing or make/play music and will provide all the equipment you need on each of your shows.

i have given the links of all 3 here in order of best to worst
