i dont no i have the same quistion i want to no if you can just knock the insides out and just leave the shell of the catiladic coverter on well it work that way
That won't work, it will cause you a computer code to set. That last sensor is there to check that the cat is cleaning up the crud, computer compares it to the other ones up front. They can be fooled if you're clever about it. All computer sensors in vehicles work one of two ways, they either use resistance to modify a floating voltage, or they create a millivoltage signal. All you need to do is figure out what kind of signal yours uses, then make some checks to see what range it normally runs in when the engine is up to temp, and bypass the sensor with a dummy resistor or millivolt supply to fool it.
Yes
Yes.Yes.
The catalytic converter(s) would be found in the exhaust system between the engine and the muffler.
Have catalytic converter checked.
A defective catalytic converter can do that.
This would be the sensor after the catalytic converter.
there are 3 O2 sensors on the 4.3 Vortec V6 Blazer ( I have a 99 as well) 1 is on each exhaust downpipe forward of the catalytic converter, the 3rd is just aft of the converter.
replace the catalytic converter
One, just before the catalytic converter.
Nowhere. It attached to the exhaust pipe, not the engine.
It is possible to replace the catalytic converter with a straight-through section of exhaust pipe, but understand that doing so puts you in violation of pollution laws in most states and definitely Federal pollution laws.
Plugged fuel/air filter? Plugged catalytic converter? Engine timing? Check EGR Valve
